The Arabian Peninsula has many terrains such as deserts, oases, coastal plains, and mountains. Each provide many different things, and they all have different ways to adapt to them.
Deserts: The deserts cover about 3 quarters of the Arabian Peninsula. The summer temperatures in the desert rise up to above 120 degrees fahrenheit. Nightime temperatures can drop to below freezing. Most of the Arabians were nomads. They migrated through the deserts raising sheep, goats, and camels. They wore cotton headresses to protect them against dust, heat, and flies. But there was not only nomads in the desert, there was the Bedouins. The Bedouins clothed themselves in loose-fitting long gowns and like the nomads, wore cotton headdresses to protect themselves. Some Bedouins controlled most of the valuable trade routes. There were also many caravans traveling through the deserts. Traveling in the desert you find not only seas of sand but plateus, a raised area of flat land.
Oases: Oasis occur where water has been trapped under the ground. Oases very in size, from a few acres to large areas of land. Oases also have many plants and water. Nomads dug deep holes in the ground to get more water for their crops. Also many towns developed by oases. Many of the farmers bartered the crops they grew from the oases. The people that lived by the oases had sedentary life styles.
Coastal Plain: The air is damp and moist and it rains regularly. The coastal plain has a few natural harbors. people built deep wells, dams, systems to irrigate. There were many farmers and merchants on the coastal plain. There was a lot of sea trade or bartering.
Mountains: The mountains in Arabia rise from 1,000 to 12,000 feet high. 20 inches of rain each year on the mountains. Riverbeds cut down the sides of the mountains fill with water during rainstorms. People that live in the mountains have houses made out of mud brick. People made many terraces in the mountain for farming. Farmers stored water in underground storage containers.
Vegetation Zones in Africa: There are many vegetation zones in Africa such as desert, Semidesert, Savanna, and the Forest.

Semi desert: Semi deserts are located between desert and grassland or woodland. Even though a semi desert is between a desert and grassland, there is a dry climate. there is also heavy grazing in the semi desert. Animals like the coyote and mountain lion live i n the semi desert. Many people are drawn here because of its magnificent landscape. Semi deserts consist of grasses and shrubs.
Savanna: Savanna's consist of grassland with tall grasses and scattered trees. It also has flat grasslands of tropical regions and subtropical. The savanna biome has a wet and dry climate. The savanna has a climate range of 68 to 86 degrees. In the winter it is about 68 to 78 degrees. In the summer temperatures range up to 78 to 86 degrees.
Forest (rainforest, temperate forest, and evergreen trees and shrubs) : Forest zones have the most vegatation. Forests usually have wet climates. But sometimes hot and damp.
